Blakney Leads Rams to Seventh Straight Victory

Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. - The Farmingdale
State women's basketball team defeated Bard last night, improving
to 14-4 overall, 12-1 in the Skyline Conference, while Bard dropped
to 3-17, 1-12 in conference play. The Rams were led by junior guard
Kimberly Blakney (Brooklyn, N.Y./Benjamin Banneker) who led all
scorers with a game-high 25 points.
Farmingdale State held a 39-25 lead at the half, before scoring 53 second half points and defeating Bard 92-46. The Rams forced 42 turnovers and recorded a season-high 32 steals.
Blakney shot 9-for-13 from the floor, grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds, had five assists and five steals. Sophomore forward Trelissa Ruffin (Brooklyn, N.Y./Clara Barton) and junior forward Gabrielle Green (North Babylon, N.Y./North Babylon) each scored 13 points and had five rebounds for the Rams. Freshman guard Shemique Hooks (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) scored 12, while junior guard Tiffara Steward (Elmont, N.Y./Sewanhaka) led Farmingdale with six steals. The Rams have now won seven straight and 14 of their last 15 games.
Freshman guard Caitlin Dullea (West Stockholm, N.Y./Potsdam) led the Raptors with 13 points and eight assists, while sophomore forward Blaire Moldenhauer (Albany, Mo./Albany) pitched in scoring six and grabbing seven boards.
Farmingdale State will host Skyline Conference leader Mount Saint Mary on Saturday, February 7th, at 1:00pm.
