Farmingdale, NY – Farmingdale State women's basketball held St. Joseph's to 14 points in the second half and took an 80-44 conference victory over the Golden Eagles tonight in Farmingdale, NY. The Rams improved to 4-1, 1-0 Skyline with the win, while St. Joe's fell to 1-7, 0-2 in the conference.
Farmingdale junior guard Christine Daley (Elmont, NY/Elmont) hit six three-pointers to lead the team with 24 points, while junior center Mercedes Miller (New York, NY/Manhattan Center) finished with 17 points, six rebounds and six steals. Senior guard Rochelle Clark (Bellport, NY/Bellport) stood out defensively for the Rams with 11 steals and added six assists and four points on the offensive side.
St. Joe's was led by junior guard Nicole Palazzo (Medford, NY/Patchogue-Medford) with 13 points. Freshman forward Trish McMahon (N.Patchogue, NY/Patchogue-Medford) just missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.
Farmingdale will play again on Saturday, December 9th as they host conference opponent Mount Saint Vincent at 1:00pm.
