Old Westbury, NY - Farmingdale State (8-8, 4-3 Skyline) won their second straight game today, defeating Old Westbury (9-6, 3-3 Skyline) at home 71-64. Old Westbury led 34-33 at the half, but the Rams pulled away early in the second half for a quick 14-point lead and never looked back. Senior Angela Williams (New York, NY/Murry Bergtraum) led Farmingdale State with game-highs of 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Other leaders for the Rams were sophomore I'shawna West (Hempstead, NY/Hempstead) with 16 points and senior Kristen Tong (Swanzey, NH/Monadnock Reg.) with 12 points. Junior Rochelle Clark (Bellport, NY/Bellport) tallied a game-high eight assists and sophomore Mercedes Miller (New York, NY/Manhattan Center) finished with nine points and three blocked shots. Junior Kendra Romain (New York, NY/MLK) grabbed nine rebounds and had five assists.

Old Westbury was led by Janera Johnson (Richmond Hill, NY/Hillcrest) with 16 points and 10 rebounds, Monique Midy (Westbury, NY/Westbury) with 14 points and Danna Purnell (Deer Park, NY/Deer Park) with 11 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

Farmingdale State has a 10-day break before they host Old Westbury on Tuesday night, January 31st, for a game at 7:00pm.
