Rams Fall in Final Three Minutes to NJCU

The Farmingdale State women's basketball team fell to 5-5 overall with a 71-69 loss to New Jersey City University on Thursday night in Jersey City, NJ. The Rams led by five points with 3:38 to go, before NJCU junior guard Latrese McNair (Elizabeth, NJ/Elizabeth) connected for a quick three-pointer and fast break to tie the score at 60 all. Farmingdale sophomore I'shawna West (Hempstead, NY/Hempstead) tied it at 64-64 with 1 minute to go, but McNair and sophomore guard Arnese Goodman (Jersey City, NJ/Lincoln) secured the game for Jersey City in the final minute of play for the win.

Rams sophomore Mercedes Miller (New York, NY/Manhattan Center) finished with game-highs of 21 points and 18 rebounds. Senior Kristen Tong (Swanzey, NH/Monadnock Regional) tallied 13 points, while junior Rochelle Clark (Bellport, NY/Bellport) finished with 14 points and four assists.

New Jersey City was led by McNair led with 21 points, while Goodman contributed 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

This is the final game of the semester for Farmingdale State. They will return to action in a Skyline Conference Double-header against St. Joseph's College at home on January 9th at 5:00pm. The men will follow at 7:00pm.
