Farmingdale State women's basketball improved to 3-3 overall tonight with a victory over Briarcliffe (5-1). The Rams led 43-35 at the half and kept on scoring in the second for the 84-55 victory. Farmingdale sophomore forward Mercedes Miller (New York, NY/Manhattan Center) led the team with 16 points and 14 rebounds.
Senior Nicole Judkins (Fort Drum, NY/Indian River) finished with 12 points for the Rams. Seniors Angela Williams (New York, NY/Murry Bergtraum) and Kristen Tong (Swanzey, NH/Monadnock Regional) both scored 11 points. Freshman Carrie Lewis (Livingston Manor, NY/Livingston Manor) grabbed seven rebounds (five offensive) in the final 9 minutes of play.
Briarcliffe was led by Marvasia Boldon (Elmont, NY) led with 17 points and 13 boards, while Jenese Bennett (Riverhead, NY) had 11 points and eight rebounds.
Farmingdale State will travel to Manhattanville College on Saturday afternoon for a 1:00pm Skyline Conference game.
