Farmingdale State tonight advanced to the Skyline Conference Finals as they defeated Stevens 60-57 on a last second three-point play by Sharon Billips (Brooklyn, NY/John Jay). Billips scored off a feed from Dankery Perez (Manhattan, NY/Manhattan Center) with three seconds left and completed the three-point play sending the Rams to face Mt. St. Maryıs for the second year in a row in the finals.
Farmingdale (23-4,12-1) tied the score at 57 on a Kristin Tong (Swanzey, NH/Monadnock) three-pointer with just over one minute remaining and regained control of the ball on a Jenea Lockley (Roslyn, NY/Roslyn) steal with 27 seconds left. Lockley then intercepted the ball at halfcourt with one second on the clock to secure the victory.
Billips scored a game-high 24 points and added 7 rebounds for the Rams. Perez finished with 16 points and 5 steals while Lockely and Taisha Roberts (Manhattan, NY/Murry Bergtraum) each grabbed 8 rebounds for Farmingdale.
Jenna Gambino (Staten Island, NY/St. Johns Villa Academy) led Stevens (18-10, 9-4) with 23 points and 10 rebounds and Dora Enright (Longmont, Co/Longmont) added 19 points and 9 rebounds in defeat.
Farmingdale plays at defending champion Mt. St. Mary's at 8pm tomorrow night with the winner gaining an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship Tournament.
