Sharon Billips and I’shawna West Pick up Skyline Honors

The All-Skyline Conference Women’s Basketball teams were announced Tuesday, March 1, 2005 with two members of the Farmingdale State team receiving honors.

Senior forward Sharon Billips, who finished third in the nation in scoring with 22.2 points per game, was named First Team All-Skyline. Billips was no stranger to awards this season, being named Skyline Player of the Week four times, ECAC player of the week twice, Team of the Week member once, Met Basketball Player of the Week once and was consistently seen on the Met Basketball and Skyline Honor Roll. Sharon scored a total of 536 points during the regular season and was ranked in 8-of-9 Skyline statistical categories – leading the conference in scoring and blocks.

Freshman guard I’shawna West, who averaged 13.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.3 steals, was selected as the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year. West, who was selected Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week six times during the season, ranked sixth in the conference in scoring, 3-point field goals made and steals. She also ranked eighth in 3-point field-goal percentage. West scored 340 total points, scoring 20 or more points on seven occasions this season.
