Rams Earn Pair of Wins at Yeshiva

Game 1: Farmingdale State - 16, Yeshiva - 1  (F/5)

Game 2: Farmingdale State - 12, Yeshiva - 3  (F/5)

Bronx, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State softball team traveled to Fordham University on Friday afternoon and earned a pair of wins over Skyline opponent Yeshiva University. The Rams recorded a 16-1 victory in game one and followed with a 12-3 win in the second game.

In game one, Farmingdale State (8-10, 6-2) was led offensively by senior catcher Meagan Anderson (Patchogue, N.Y.) who was 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and a game-high 3 RBI. Junior designated player Jenna Crawford (Farmingdale, N.Y.) was 1-for-2, scored three runs and had a run batted in, while junior left fielder Allison Dailey (Commack, N.Y.) and junior first baseman Lori Michalowski (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) each had one hit and 2 RBI.

Freshman pitcher Jaxie Collard (Deer Park, N.Y.) earned the win after throwing four shutout innings, allowing four hits and striking out four.

In game two, FSC freshman right fielder Ana Vargas (Bay Shore, N.Y.) was 2-for-2 with a double, three runs scored and 2 RBI. Junior second baseman Brittany Ciaramitaro (Levittown, N.Y.) finished 2-for-3 with a double, three runs scored and an RBI, while senior third baseman Cara Camerada (East Rockaway, N.Y.) had a hit, scored a run and had 1 RBI.

Collard recorded her second win of the day and improved to 8-6 on the year after 4.1 innings of work.

The Rams next will host Sarah Lawrence in a Skyline Conference DH on Sunday, April 10th at noon.
