Rams Eliminated from NCAA's After Loss to Haverford

Montclair, N.J. - The Farmingdale State softball team fell, 8-0, to Haverford College in the NCAA Division III Montclair Regionals this evening. The Rams were eliminated from the tournament and finished the season with a 24-14 record.
Haverford (29-10) took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning on a 2 RBI single to center field by junior shortstop Lauren Touey (Drexel Hill, Penn.). Junior right fielder Sarah Brody (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) followed with an RBI single to left to extend the advantage to 3-0.
In the bottom of the fifth, sophomore catcher Kristin Tatum (Salt Lake City, Utah) and junior designated hitter Stephanie Wolfson (Blue Bell, Penn.) each hit RBI singles to increase the Haverford lead to 5-0. Two batters later, Touey plated two runs on a double down the left field line to put the team ahead 7-0.
Haverford added one run in the sixth inning en route to an 8-0 victory.
Farmingdale State managed only two hits in the game.
Haverford advanced to play top-seeded Montclair State tomorrow at noon.
