Anderson Named ECAC Softball Player of the Week

- Rams sophomore catcher picks up 2nd ECAC Player of the Week Honor -

Centerville, Mass. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Corvias ECAC Players of the Week for Softball. The Conference has selected student-athletes from Division I, Division II and Division III for the week ending April 22, 2014.

Sophomore catcher Meagan Anderson (Patchogue, N.Y.) was named the Division III Metro Player of the Week for the second time this season for her play during the week of April 14-20.

Anderson collected eight hits in 14 at-bats (.571) with eight runs scored and five RBI as Farmingdale enjoyed a 4-0 week and secured a berth in the upcoming Skyline Championship. She had a triple, a homerun, three walks and two doubles and was a single shy of hitting for the cycle on Apr. 19 in the Rams' 8-1 win over Purchase. Her RBI double in the sixth inning on Apr. 17 lifted FSC past Staten Island, 3-2. Her 17 doubles are a program single-season record.
