Anderson Named ECAC Softball Player of the Week

- Rams sophomore catcher picks up Co-Player of the Week Honors -

Centerville, Mass. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Corvias ECAC Players of the Week for Softball. The Conference has selected student-athletes from Division I, Division II and Division III for the week ending April 6, 2014.

Sophomore catcher Meagan Anderson (Patchogue, N.Y.) was named the Division III Metro Co-Player of the Week after batting .667 in the Rams 3-1 week. She recorded three hits in each game from her leadoff position in the batting order while scoring seven runs and adding two triples and a double. She scored a pair of runs on April 6th as FSC earned a 7-3 win versus St. Joseph's-L.I and stroked a double, a triple and knocked in three in the Rams' 9-2 victory over Old Westbury on April 5th.

Anderson is averaging a team-leading .479 average this season, along with 13 doubles, two triples a homerun and 15 RBI's. Her 13 doubles is two shy of the school record 15 doubles in a season.

Anderson and the Rams will face two Skyline opponents this weekend. They travel to face The Sage Colleges this Saturday at 1:00 p.m., before hosting NYU-Poly on Sunday, April 13th at Noon.
