Montclair, N.J. - The Farmingdale State softball team fell in both games to the nationally ranked #3 Montclair State on Thursday afternoon at the MSU Softball Stadium. The Rams fell to 9-9 overall, while the Red Hawks now stand at 15-1.
In the first game, Montclair scored three runs in both the first and the second inning, before adding 10 in the third for a commanding 16-0 lead. The Rams scored four in the top of the fifth, but the Red Hawks took the 16-4 5-inning victory.
In game two, the Rams trailed 2-0 after four innings, before a two run homer in the fifth inning by Montclair pushed the lead to 4-0. Four more runs in the bottom of the sixth would give them the 8-0 win and non-conference sweep.
Farmingdale State will now host games both days this weekend, with NYU-Poly on Saturday, March 29th at Noon and Purchase on Sunday, March 30th at Noon.
