Rams Pick Up Two Conference Wins at Home

Farmingdale, N.Y. - Farmingdale State improved to 9-7 overall, 2-2 in the Skyline with two wins over conference opponent the College of Mount Saint Vincent (4-2, 2-2) today. The Rams took an 8-4 win in game one and then a 14-0 five inning win in game two.
Farmingdale State went up 3-0 in the second on three hits, including doubles by freshman first baseman Lori Michalowski (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and sophomore catcher Meagan Anderson (Patchogue, N.Y.). The Dolphins made it 3-2 in the top of the third off an error, before the Rams scored in the bottom of the inning for a 4-2 score.
With an 8-3 lead going into the seventh, the Rams allowed two hits and one run, but a pop up to short would seal the 8-4 win for junior pitcher Taylor Tedeschi (Levittown, N.Y.) and Farmingdale State. Tedeschi struck out two, walked one and allowed just one earned run to improve to 3-5 this season.
Junior pitcher Taylor Webb (West Babylon, N.Y.) got the start in game two and the Rams bats were warmed up as they ripped 15 hits and scored 14 runs to take a 14-0 run-rule win. Webb allowed just two hits with no walks and two strikeouts for her fifth win of the year (5-2).
Anderson led for Farmingdale State with three hits (two doubles), three runs scored and 3 RBI's. Junior centerfielder Michelle Mongiello (Elmont, N.Y.) was a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs scored. Michalowski went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI's and a run scored. Freshman third baseman Andrea Klarman (Medford, N.Y.) was 2-for-2 with 2 RBI's and two runs, while junior right fielder Marissa Monaco (Bohemia, N.Y.) finished 1-for-3 with a run and 2 RBI's.
The Rams now travel to New Paltz St. for a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday, March 26th at 3:00 p.m.
