Farber and Zino Named ECAC Players of the Week for Softball

Centerville, Mass. - Junior shortstop Nicole Farber
(Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) was named ECAC Metro Softball Player of
the Week and sophomore pitcher Hope Zino (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay
Shore) was named Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday, April 13th.
Farber batted .550 on the week, going 11-for-20 at the plate. She
posted an RBI in all but one game with a total of eight this week.
Her team improved to 18-8, 11-1 in Skyline play. She also stole
four bases and had two extra base hits this week.
Hope went 4-0 this week with a 0.00 ERA, allowing no more than three hits in each game. She fanned ten batters and walked just one in a 4-2 win over Baruch College, before fanning nine more in a 6-1 win over St. Joe’s. She pitched three innings in the second of the doubleheader versus St. Joe’s, fanning two. Hope ended the week with a 8-0 victory over Sage, striking out six and pitching perfectly until allowing the only two hits in the fourth inning.
