Ellis, Brown and Scher Lead Rams at Jasper Invitational
Riverdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's and
women's Indoor Track team competed at the Jasper Invitational on
Saturday, December 13th in a meet that featured only field events
and sprints.
Sophomore Qasim Ellis (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) won the long
jump with a jump of 6.72 (22' 3/4"). This improves his previous
ECAC qualifying performance. Qasim now ranks second on the Division
III ECAC performance list. Ellis also placed 4th in the triple jump
with a leap of 13.21m (43' 4 1/4").
Freshman Steven Brown (Wheatly Heights, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East) won the 55m high hurdles in a hand timed 7.8. Steve also placed 3rd in the high jump with 1.84m (6' 1/2").
Freshman Joe Scher (Franklin Square, N.Y./H.F. Carey) ran a hand timed 6.1 in the 55m dash. Converted to FAT time Joe ran 6.34 and is tied for first place on the ECAC list.
