The freshmen men excelled at the Seton Hall Games on December 12th led by Ian Lovergie’s (Castle Point, NY/Beacon) 3rd place in the high jump (6’2”) and long jump 20’ 9 Ύ”. Reggie Routier (Amityville, NY/Freeport) placed 5th in the 60m high hurdles (8.78), Andre Spears (Westbury, NY/Westbury) placed 5th in the triple jump (43’ 1 Ύ”). Tywaun Sanford (Freeport, NY/Freeport) placed 5th in the 400m (51.65) and Reuben Hairston (Freeport, NY/Freeport) placed 6th in the long jump (20’4”).

Other notable performaces:

Four triple jumpers went over 40 feet: Spears – 41’ 1 Ύ”, Hairston – 41’ 11 Ό”, Routier – 41’ 6” and Patric Santiago (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) – 40’ 5”.

Freshman Kevin Desrouilleres (Spring Valley, NY/Ramapo) had a 40’ shot put.

For the women’s team, Sophomore Indiana Ripoll (New York, NY/JFK) placed 4th in her 800m section in 2:44.28 followed by junior Rachel Siegel (Medford, NY/Bellport) who was sixth in 2:50.63. Freshmen sprinters who ran the 200m were: Jamela Jacobs (Brooklyn, NY/William H. Maxwell) 30.42, Mariama Conteh (Bronx, NY/St. Barnabas) 30.98 and Cynthia Dumas (White Plains, NY/Good Counsel) 32.82.
