FSC Defeats Hunter College in Non-Conference Match

Farmingdale State - 8, Hunter - 1

Queens, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team improved to 4-2 with an 8-1 victory over non-conference opponent Hunter College this afternoon at the USTA Center.

The Rams claimed all three points in the doubles matches and were led by the pairing of freshman Mark Baker (North Baldwin, N.Y.) and senior Daniel Kafka (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) who earned an 8-1 win in the #1 slot. FSC's Malik Bass (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) and Steven Gaudio (Miller Place, N.Y.) (8-6) and Chris Molchan (Mattituck, N.Y.) and Bradley Maslak (Middle Island, N.Y.) (8-4) won in the second and third positions, respectively.

In singles, Baker (6-0, 6-1), Bass (7-5, 6-1), Kafka (6-1, 6-3), Maslak (6-1, 6-1) and sophomore Cooper Everett (Long Beach, N.Y.) (6-1, 6-0) all earned victories for the Rams.

Farmingdale State next will travel to Merchant Marine for a Skyline Conference match on Wednesday, April 10th at 4:30 p.m.
