Rams Shutout St. Joe's in Final Conference Match

Patchogue, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team improved to 10-5 overall, 5-2 in the Skyline with a 9-0 victory over St. Joseph's-L.I. (2-9, 2-5) on Thursday night.

The Rams held a 3-0 advantage after doubles play with 8-0, 8-1 and 8-3 wins.

In the singles matches, freshman Andy Bentz (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) won 6-1, 6-3 at #1 singles, while senior Dan Baruch (East Meadow, N.Y.) posted a 6-2, 6-1 win at #2. Junior Marvin Beaubrun (Farmingdale, N.Y.) won 6-2, 6-2 in the third spot along with a 6-0, 6-1 win for sophomore Joseph Drago (Bronx, N.Y.) at #4. In the #5 position, freshman Josh Kaplan (Greenlawn, N.Y.) won 6-1, 6-0 and rounding out the team at #6, freshman Bradley Maslak (Middle Island, N.Y.) won 6-2, 6-0.

Farmingdale State will now travel to face Oneonta State on Sunday, May 1st at 1:00 p.m. for a non-conference match. The Skyline Semifinal round begins on Wednesday, May 4th.
