Rams Earn Road Win at John Jay

New York, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team earned a 7-2 victory over John Jay in a non-conference road match on Saturday.

The Rams (2-1) swept the doubles competition to quickly open a 3-0 lead over the Bloodhounds (0-2). Freshmen Tyler Danzy (Central Islip, N.Y.) and Marvin Beaubrun (Farmingdale, N.Y.) earned an 8-2 victory in the #1 position, while junior Jimmy Lopez (Medford, N.Y.) and sophomore Kevin Palacios (Glen Cove, N.Y.) won by the same margin in the #2 slot. Senior Rommel Enriquez (Bethpage, N.Y.) and freshman Daniel Brandman (Kings Park, N.Y.) paired for an 8-1 victory in third doubles.

In singles play, Danzy (6-1, 6-0), Palacios (6-2, 6-4), Lopez (6-0, 6-0) and freshman Cajetan Ferrao (Flushing, N.Y.) (6-0, 6-0) all captured wins for Farmingdale State.

The Rams next will host Hunter College in a non-conference match on Friday, March 21st at 4:30 p.m.
