Rams Fall to St. Joe's in Conference Finals
St. Joseph's - 5, Farmingdale State - 2
Patchogue, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's tennis team was defeated 5-2 on Saturday in the Skyline Conference Finals to St. Joseph's College.
Heading into the singles matches, the Rams trailed 3-0 after the Golden Eagles swept the doubles competition. Farmingdale won two singles matches, Matt Kaczmarczyk (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) defeated Keith Houghtaling (Bayport-Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport) by scores of 6-4, 6-4 and Chris Genzmann (Massapequa, N.Y./Farmingdale) was victorious over Kyle Barnett (Longwood, N.Y./Coram) 7-6 and 6-2. The two remaining singles matches were unfinished due to the fact that St. Joseph's had already achieved the necessary five points to be crowned Skyline Conference Champions.
The Rams finished the season with a 9-3 record and look foward to the 2010 season.
