New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the Fall weekly report #3 on Monday, September 25, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics for men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and women's volleyball.
Women's Volleyball Update (5-5, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report
The Farmingdale State women's volleyball team dropped three non-conference matches last week to Moravian, Middlebury and Ramapo.
Sophomore setter Julia Hande (Islip, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Hande led FSC in both kills (48) and digs (58) in three matches. She opened the week with 14 kills and 22 digs in the 5-set loss to Moravian. At the Ramapo Roadrunner Invitational, Hande tallied a season-high 17 kills versus Middlebury and tied that mark with 17 kills and 23 digs against Ramapo.
This week the Rams will play four matches: Tuesday at Mount Saint Mary @ 7:00 p.m., Thursday home vs. Sarah Lawrence @ 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at Stockton @ 9:00 a.m. and Franklin & Marshall (at Stockton) @ 1:00 p.m.
Women's Tennis Update (3-5, 0-1 Skyline) - Full Report
FSC posted a 2-1 mark last week with victories over Lehman (8-1) and Berkeley-NY (9-0).
The women's tennis team is slated to play a pair of Skyline Conference road matches this week: Wednesday at St. Joseph's-LI @ 5:00 p.m. and Saturday at St. Joseph's-Brooklyn @ noon.
Men's Soccer Update (3-3, 0-2 Skyline) - Full Report
In their lone game last week, the men's soccer team fell, 1-0, to Old Westbury in a Skyline matchup.
This week Farmingdale State will play two games: Thursday at Yeshiva (at Votee Park - Teaneck, NJ) @ 7:30 p.m. and Saturday home vs. St. Joseph's-Brooklyn @ noon.
Women's Soccer Update (2-4-2, 0-0 Skyline) - Full Report
The women's soccer team squared off against NYU in their only game last week and were defeated, 3-0.
The Rams will play two conference games this week: Wednesday home vs. Mount Saint Vincent @ 4:00 p.m. and Saturday at Old Westbury @ noon.
The cross country teams competed at the Bard Raptors Invitational last weekend with the women taking third out of 17 teams and the men finishing in ninth out of 18. Sophomore Erin Lettieri (West Islip, N.Y.) paced the women with a runner-up finish in 18:30.1, while sophomore James O'Brien (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) recorded a third place finish for the men in 26:26.1
This week Farmingdale State will travel to the Hudson Valley Sports Dome in Milton, N.Y. for the Mount Saint Mary Invitational on Saturday, September 30th.
Men's Golf Update
The men's golf team traveled to Downingtown Country Club for the 2017 Montgomery Cup this past weekend and claimed the title. The Rams placed fourth of nine in Saturday's 36-hole match play qualifier and defeated Franklin & Marshall and Lynchburg College on Sunday en route to the title.
The Rams will host the 2017 FSC Fall Invitational this weekend at the Bethpage State Park - Red Course.
