Bayne Leads Old Westbury Past Rams

Old Westbury, N.Y. - Junior defender Michael Bayne (Coram, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal for Old Westbury in the 35th minute of action as the Panthers blanked Farmingdale State 1-0. The Rams dropped to 5-6-1 overall, 3-1 in Skyline play, while Old Westbury now stands at 2-10, 1-2 in conference matches. 

Bayne broke the scoreless tie as he scored on a header off the pass from freshman defender Andrew Moorman (Kings Park, N.Y.) with 10:35 remaining in the first half. The Panthers held a 10-5 shot advantage in the half.

In the second half, Old Westbury outshot the Rams 10-9 and each team attempted two corner kicks.

Junior goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti (East Northport, N.Y.) made eight saves for Farmingdale State, while junior Marcelo Guardado (Huntington Station, N.Y.) stopped five shots for the Panthers.

The Rams next will travel to Mount Saint Mary College for a Skyline match on Saturday, October 6th at noon.
