Kings Point, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team fell, 5-0, on the road at Merchant Marine Academy Wednesday evening. The Rams dropped to 2-3 on the year, while the Mariners now stand at 4-1.
Merchant Marine's Ryan Silveira (Katy, Tex.) put the Mariners ahead 1-0 in the 19th minute of action as he netted a shot from the top of the penalty area. Just over four minutes later, Josh Reicks (Katy, Tex.) increased the Mariners' lead to 2-0. Merchant Marine added two goals in a 1:32 span at the end of the first half, taking a 4-0 lead into the break.
Andrew MacKenzie (San Diego, Cal.) scored the games final goal for the Mariners 3:17 into the second half. Farmingdale State took three shots in the half but were unable to score.
The Rams next will host Fredonia State in a non-conference game on Saturday, September 17th at noon.
