Juniors Lead Kings Point Past Rams

Farmingdale, NY - The Farmingdale State men's lacrosse team fell to 6-8 overall, 4-3 in the Knickerbocker with a 12-8 loss against Kings Point (10-4, 6-1 Knickerbocker) on Wednesday afternoon in Farmingdale, NY. Kings Point junior attacker Sean Dougherty (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) led the Mariner with four goals, while junior attacker Jim Flannery (North Massapequa, NY/Holy Trinity) scored three goals and one assist. Junior goalkeeper John Pagano (West Islip, NY/St. Anthony's) got the win in net with 17 saves.

The Rams held a 2-1 lead after the first quarter, before Kings Point netted three goals in the second for a 4-2 advantage. A goal each by Gianluca Carrabs (Glen Cove, NY/Glen Cove) and junior Ryan LaFlare (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) tied the game at 4-4 at the half. Kings Point outscored Farmingdale 5-2 in the third and never looked back.

Junior defender Rob Hattenrath (Bayside, NY/Cardozo) had four caused turnovers for Farmingdale State. Sophomore goalie Chris Hardgrove (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale) had 12 saves in defeat. LaFlare finished with four goals, while Carrabs tallied two goals and two assists.

The Rams travel to Kean University in Union, NJ on Saturday, April 22nd for another Knickerbocker Lacrosse Conference game at 1:00pm.
