Men's Lacrosse Advances to ECAC Finals

The men's lacrosse team improved to 9-6 overall and advanced to the ECAC Metro Finals after defeating Richard Stockton 14-10 on Friday afternoon. Farmingdale reeled off six consecutive goals to turn a 3-2 deficit into an 8-3 lead. Stockton responded with four straight tallies to pull within 8-7, but the Rams went on a four-goal spurt for an insurmountable 12-7 cushion. Farmingdale senior goalkeeper Anthony Sheridan (Merrick, NY/Mepham) registered 21 saves in the game.

Joe Meola (Rocky Point, NY/Rocky Point) led Farmingdale with four goals and one assist. Gianluca Carrabs (Glen Cove, NY/Glen Cove) and Ryan LaFlare (Lindenhurst, NY/ Lindenhurst) each contributed three goals and two assists. Jeremy Goohs (Merrick, NY/Calhoun) scored the game-winner in the fourth period with 13:42 remaining in the game. The Rams capitalized on 6-of-8 power play opportunities.

Jeff Martin (Lincoln Park, NJ/Boonton) led the Ospreys with four goals and Anthony Severino (Edison, NJ/St. Joseph) added three goals and one assist. Ryan Pettit (Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) tallied one goal and two assists.

Stockton finished with a season record of 8-6. The Rams now travel to face top-seeded Montclair State on Sunday at 1pm for the ECAC Metro Championship.
