Dover, DE - Story by Wesley SID - Wesley College (7-5) defeated Farmingdale State University (5-6) by a final score of 11-5 in a non-conference men's lacrosse game on Saturday night. The game was forfeited with 9:26 remaining in the 4th quarter due to weather conditions for an official game.
The Wolverines jumped on top early 3-0 on goals by Justin Thompson (Pasadena, MD/Northeast), Chris Miller (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) and Mark Skakle (Columbia, MD/Long Reach). The Rams would close the gap to 3-2 on 2 unanswered goals by Matt Ramacca (Baldwin, NY/Nassau) and Jeremy Goohs (Merrick, NY/Calhoun). The Wolverines went into halftime up 7-4, aided by a goal by Thompson with 30 seconds remaining in the half.
Wesley jumped out to a 9-4 lead in the second half on a goal by Rob Mason (Lewes, DE/Salisbury Baptist Academy) with 5:10 remaining. The Wolverines then held a 10-5 lead, before Rick Shafer scored with 13:00 remaining in the game for the final tally before the game was was forfeited. Thompson totaled 4 goals and 1 assist, while Skakle and Dean Evans (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) had a pair of goals apiece.
