Carrabs and Meola Lead Rams Over Mount Ida

Freshman Gianluca Carrabs (Glen Cove, NY/Glen Cove) scored five goals for Farmingdale State (2-2), with four coming in the first period, leading the Rams to a 19-9 win over visiting Mount Ida College (0-2). Farmingdale sophomore Joe Meola (Rocky Point, NY/Rocky Point) set a new school record with eight assists and also added two goals. Other two goal scorers for the Rams were Ryan LaFlare (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst), Mike Cullen (Merrick, NY/Calhoun) and Patrick Eustache (Queens, NY/Elmont). Senior captain Tony Sheridan (Merrick, NY/Mepham) picked up the win in net making 13 saves for Farmingdale, while junior Kevin Winters (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) took over in the fourth period making 9 saves.

P.J. Matthews (Baltimore, MD/Patterson) and Charles Caughman (Baltimore, MD/Patterson) led Mount Ida with three goals each. Matt Ramieor (Arlington, MA/Arlington) finished with three assists and one goal for the Mustangs.

The Rams will return to action on Wednesday, March 23rd as they host Montclair State in a 4:00 pm game.
