Skyline Releases Men's Basketball Report #9

- AJ Matthews named Co-Player of the Week -


New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the ninth men's Basketball report for the 2011-12 season this afternoon, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.

Junior forward AJ Matthews (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was named Co-Skyline Conference Player of the Week for men's basketball. Matthews led Farmingdale State to three league wins this week while averaging 24.3 points per game on 67.5% shooting, 16.3 rebounds and 5.1 blocks. Matthews had 31 points and 15 boards against NYU-Poly and 23 points, 20 rebounds and 6 blocks versus Maritime. He added 19 points, 14 rebounds and seven blocks in the win over Purchase. Matthews leads the nation in rebounds per game (15.1) and double-doubles (14), is ranked second in blocked shots per game (3.9) and fourth in field goal percentage (67.5).
