Rams Fall at Purchase

Purchase, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team fell, 87-62, at Purchase College last night, in Purchase, N.Y. The Rams now stand at 13-9 overall, 12-5 in the Skyline Conference, while the Panthers improved to 18-4, 14-3 in conference play.
Purchase jumped ahead early, holding a 20-11 lead midway through the first half. Leading by nine with 6:41 to go before halftime, the Panthers closed on a 17-9 run and took a 41-24 advantage into the break.
In the second half, Purchase shot 52% from the field and outscored Farmingdale State 46-38. The Panthers were 11-for-22 from behind the arc.
Farmingdale State was led by guard junior Joshua Smith (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) who scored 17 points and had eight rebounds. Junior forwards Robert Adon (New York, N.Y./A. Philip Randolph) and Davon Henry (New York, N.Y./Wadleigh) each scored eight points.
Senior forward Marvin Billups (Chester, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) and senior guard Michael McNair (Valley Cottage, N.Y./Nyack) each shot 7-for-11 from the floor, scoring 18 and 19 points, respectively for Purchase.
The Rams next will travel to Maritime for a Skyline Conference matchup on Saturday, February 12th at 2:00 p.m.
