Santana Named NABC Second Team All-American
- Senior guard becomes first All-American in program history -
Kansas City, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today the 2009 State Farm Coaches’ Division III All-America teams. Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America.
Senior guard Damien Santana (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grady) was named to the Second Team, becoming the first player in program history to receive All-American honors. Santana finished the year as the All-Time leading scorer for Farmingdale State, finishing with 1,910 points.
Throughout his career, the team posted an overall record of 90 wins and 26 losses, captured two Skyline Conference Championships and qualified for the NCAA Tournament three times, including an appearance in the Elite 8 in 2009. His team is now ranked #23 in the D3hoops.com Poll of top men's team in Division III.
