Rams Cruise to 17th Straight Victory

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's basketball team extended their school record to 17 straight wins after defeating Skyline Conference opponent Yeshiva University, 84-59. After falling behind 15-9 early in the first half, the Rams used a 17-0 run to take a lead they would never give back and led 42-28 at halftime.

All five starters scored in double figures for Farmingdale. Senior guard Damien Santana (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grady) finished with a game-high 22 points, five assists and four steals. Senior forward Erastus Shannon (Amityville, N.Y./Copiague) had 18 points, senior guard Joe Cammarata (Levittown, N.Y./MacArthur) and junior forward Dan Phillips (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) posted 14 points. Senior forward Davon Jackson (New York, N.Y./Rice) registered the games only double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

For Yeshiva, junior guard Martin Leibovich (Buenos Aires, Argentina/ORT II) led the team with 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

With two games left in regular season play, the Rams host Purchase College on Wednesday, February 18th at 8:00 p.m.
