Campbell's 29 Keeps Rams Rolling
Farmingdale State - 92, Old Westbury - 83
Old Westbury, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State
men's basketball team won their tenth consecutive game this
afternoon, defeating Old Westbury 92-83. The Rams improved to 14-2
overall, 9-1 in conference play, while the Panthers fell to 6-11 on
the season, 5-5 in the Skyline.
Farmingdale State was led by junior guard Mike Campbell (Bronx,
N.Y./Samuel Gompers) who recorded a double-double with game-high 29
points and 13 rebounds. Senior guard Damien Santana (Brooklyn,
N.Y./Grady) pitched in scoring 17 for the Rams, 10 of which came
from the free-throw line. Santana grabbed 12 boards, helping
Farmingdale to hold a commanding 50-25 rebounding advantage.
Old Westbury junior forward Hakiem George (New York, N.Y./Life
Sciences) led the team with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard
Bill Reese (Selma, AL./Hillcrest) scored 18 and had three steals in
the defeat for the Panthers.
The Rams look to continue their winning streak when they host
Polytechnic on Tuesday, January 27th at 8:00pm.
