Rams Cruise to Victory in Home Opener

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Rams cruised to victory with an 80-52 win over Bard College (0-8, 0-4), scoring 41 points off turnovers, in tonight's Skyline Conference men's basketball game played in Farmingdale, N.Y. Farmingdale State now stands at 6-2 overall, 2-1 in the conference.
The Rams held a 15-point lead at the half, 42-27, behind senior guard Joe Cammarata's (Levittown, N.Y./MacArthur) 13 first half points and junior guard Terrence Howard's (Queens, N.Y./Cardozo) six rebounds, including five offensive. Junior guard David Pollett (Little Rock, Ariz./Lutheran) led for Bard in the first with 13 points.
In the second, Farmingdale continued scoring, building up a 33-point lead with four minutes to go. The Rams finished with five players in double figures, with Howard recording his first career double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds. Cammarata led with 17 points, senior guard Damien Santana (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grady) with 15 points and six steals, senior forward Erastus Shannon (Amityville, N.Y./Copiague) with 13 points and junior forward Dan Phillips (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) 11 with points. Senior forward Davon Jackson (New York, N.Y./Rice) pulled down nine rebounds.
The Raptors were led by junior guard Justin White (New York, N.Y./Inst. for Collaborative Ed.) with 20 points. Sophomore forward Elijah Strauss (Forest Hills, N.Y./Brooklyn Technical) grabbed 10 rebounds.
The Rams will host New Jersey City on Tuesday, December 16th at 8:00 p.m., their last game before the holiday break.
