--Santana's 27 Falls Short against NJCU --

Jersey City, N.J. - The 27 point effort from junior guard Damien Santana (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grady) was a game-high against New Jersey City (3-2), but the Rams fell short on Wednesday night 65-59 in a non-conference men's basketball game in Jersey City, N.J. Farmingdale State now stands at 2-2 overall this season.
The Rams trailed 33-25 after the first half and poured in 34 second half points, but the Gothic Knights were able to get 32 points of their own to hold onto a six-point victory.
Santana led the team with 27, followed by junior forward Erastus Shannon (Amityville, N.Y./Copiague) who posted the games only double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds, his second double-double of the season. Senior guard Peter Lipka (Shelton, Conn./Shelton) was the third Ram in double digits with 10 points.
Junior guard Dana John (Hillside, N.J./Pocono Mountain East (Pa.)) broke New Jersey City's all-time career three-point record with 162 in 62 games, and was one of three Gothic Knights in double figures. Sophomore forward Dashan Martin (Rahway, N.J./Rahway) finished with 14 points and freshman forward Derek Miller (Newark, N.J./East Side) added 11 points.
Farmingdale State will travel to Riverdale, N.Y. on Saturday for their first Skyline Conference game against the College of Mount Saint Vincent at 12 Noon. The women's game will follow at 2:00 p.m.
