Basketball Games to be Broadcast Live this Weekend

This coming weekend the Farmingdale State College men's and women's basketball teams will kick off the second half of the 2006-07 season and all three games will be available live on the Internet.

The women's basketball team will host the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday, January 6th at 1:00pm in the Nold Hall Gymnasium for a Skyline Conference game. Both teams are undefeated in the Skyline and the winner will move into sole possession of first place. Farmingdale State (7-2) is continuing their usual Skyline success at 3-0 so far this season, while the Mariners (5-6) stand at 2-0 in the conference.

Meanwhile, the men's basketball team left for Daytona Beach, Florida on Wednesday, January 3rd to prepare for the Carrabba's Shootout Tournament on January 5th and 6th at Embry-Riddle University.

The Rams first game of the tournament is scheduled for Friday, January 5th at 6:00pm against Alice Lloyd. The Alice Lloyd Eagles are from Pippa Passes, Kentucky and are currently 6-6 overall. The winner will go on to play in the Championship game on Saturday, January 6th at 8:00pm against the winner of Embry-Riddle and Husson (Maine). The consolation game is scheduled for 6:00pm.
