Junior guard Terry Menefee (Mission, KS/Shawnee Mission North) and the Rams finished up their regular-season schedule on Wednesday night with an 89-63 non-conference win against City Tech (8-17) in Brooklyn, NY. Menefee led Farmingdale State (19-5) with 23 points, along with four other players who scored in double figures. The Rams led 44-27 at the half and finished the game shooting 51-percent from the field and 57-percent from three-point territory.
Freshman guard Daimien Santana (Brooklyn, NY/Grady) finished with 10 points, six assists and four steals for Farmingdale State. Sophomore guard Peter Lipka (Shelton, CT/Shelton) is back on the court after an injury and tallied 15 points (5-of-6 from three). Senior guard Dashawn Warren (Astoria, NY/W.C. Bryant) had 13 points and four assists, while senior guard MD Mazique (Bronx, NY/Taft) finished with 11 points.
Junior guard Kareem Hanley (Brooklyn, NY/Canarsie) led City Tech with a game-high 26 points, while junior forward Otis Saylee (New York, NY/Seward Park) scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Senior forward Danul Cabbagestalk (Brooklyn, NY/John Adams) finished with nine points and 10 boards.
The Rams have clinched the #1 seed in the Skyline Conference and the quarterfinal game will be held at Farmingdale State on Tuesday, February 21st as part of a double-header with the women's basketball team. The opponents and game times will be announced late Saturday night after all Skyline games are completed.
