Feb 13, 2006

Senior Kenny McMillan (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) claimed this week's PrestoSports/MBWA Player of the Week Award by leading Farmingdale State (18-4 Overall, 12-1 Skyline) to a 3-0 week. Earlier this season, McMillan was the first Division III player to be named the Met Basketball Player of the Week on December 20th and he now picks up the award for the second time this season.

Last week, he averaged 28.7 points, 15.0 rebounds and 6.3 steals in three games. In two conference victories, he averaged 39.5 points and seven steals. McMillan, who has 13 double-doubles, opened the week with 17 rebounds against Staten Island. He then scored a career-high 37 points and 14 rebounds against Stevens, before closing the week by breaking his career-high again with 42 points along with 14 rebounds against Mount Saint Vincent. McMillan, the Rams All-Time leading scorer, now has a total of 1,656 points to date. He was also honored as this week's Skyline Conference Player of the Week.

The Met Basketball Player of the Week Award is granted on a weekly basis by the New York Area Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association. Each week, each of the nearly 70 schools that play college basketball in the Tri-state area (Division I/II/III) have the ability to nominate one male and one female student-athlete, based upon their on-court accomplishments over the previous seven days. An esteemed panel of eight media members votes to select from the nominations the most outstanding player.
