Old Westbury, NY - Farmingdale State (9-3, 5-0 Skyline) continued their winning ways on Saturday afternoon with a victory over SUNY rival Old Westbury (6-6, 2-2 Skyline). The Rams led 29-23 at the half, before the Panthers came back to tie it with 13 minutes remaining in the game. Freshman guard Daimien Santana (Brooklyn, NY/Grady) scored 10 of his 13 points in the second half, helping Farmingdale State to the 70-62 victory. The win marks the seventh win in a row and the 21st consecutive regular-season conference win by the Rams.
Senior Dashawn Warren (Astoria, NY/W.C. Bryant) finished with 17 points for Farmingdale, while senior MD Mazique (Bronx, NY/Taft) added 14 points. Sophomore Sean McCabe (Bellmore, NY/W.C. Mepham) totaled 10 points and grabbed seven boards.
Old Westbury was led by seniors Michael Garrett (Brooklyn, NY/Grady) with 16 points and Russell Brereton (Amityville, NY/Copiague) with 14 points and seven boards.
Farmingdale State travels to Centenary College on Tuesday night, January 17th, for a Skyline Conference game at 7:00pm.
