Rams Season Ends, Kean Advances to ECAC Semifinals

Kean University (15-11) defeated Farmingdale State (20-9) 75-65 in tonightís ECAC first round game of the Division III Metro Menís Basketball Tournament. The Rams took the first lead early and held Kean until the 7-minute mark before Bryan Keller (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) knocked down a three-pointer to put the Cougars ahead 23-21 to start a 15-0 run by Kean. The Cougars led 39-28 at the half and would not see their lead diminish until the six-minute mark of the second as the Rams went on a 13-2 run to go up by one. But Kean battled back and took the final lead of the game, moving onto the semifinal round against #2 seeded Lehman College on Friday, March 4th.

Keanís Keller led the team in scoring with 16 points, shooting 3-for-4 from behind the arc. BJ Hamby (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) and Tan Kesler (Istanbul, Turkey/Paksoy Lisesi) both finished with 13 points for the Cougars. Armet Coles (Staten Island, NY/St. Peterís) scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.

Farmingdaleís Kenny McMillan (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) finished with a game-high 19 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Brandon Nieves (Harlem, NY/All Hallows) totaled 13 points and four steals.
