The Farmingdale State men’s basketball team ended the regular season with an 83-68 win over Old Westbury (11-14, 8-6) on Saturday night. The Rams finish the season 18-7 overall and an undefeated 14-0 in the Skyline Conference. The men are seeded first in the upcoming tournament, giving them home court advantage throughout the playoffs.
Dashawn Warren (Astoria, NY/W.C. Bryant) was one assist shy of a triple-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds and a game-high nine assists. Kenny McMillan (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) was the leading scorer for Farmingdale with 21 points and six rebounds. Senior Damien McKenzie (Lakeview, NY/Malverne) finished with 17 points, while freshman Peter Lipka (Shelton, CT/Shelton) added 14 points.
Kevin St. Pierre (Rosedale, NY/Jamaica) tallied 16 points for the Panthers, while Ian Johnson (Jamaica, NY/John Adams) finished with 15 points. Sal Clark (New York, NY/Our Savior Lutheran) scored 12 points and grabbed seven boards.
Farmingdale will host the lowest seed of three Skyline Play-In games in the Skyline quarterfinals on Tuesday night, February 22nd. Tip-off will be at 8:00pm following the 6:00pm women’s game. The Play-in games take place on Monday night, February 21st. The men’s opponent will be determined by the results of the Mount Saint Vincent/St. Joseph’s, Old Westbury/Centenary and Yeshiva/Maritime games.
