Farmingdale opened the 2004-05 season in the Salem Bank and Trust Tip-Off Tournament at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. The Rams faced host Roanoke College in first round action on Saturday night. Farmingdale trailed 42-33 at halftime but made a come back as they trailed by one-point twice late in the second. Roanoke, however, would seal the victory with two seconds remaining as Jared Butler (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) made a free throw for a three-point lead.
The Rams were led by Kenny McMillan (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) who had 22 points and a game-high 16 rebounds. He ended the contest with eight offensive rebounds, seven coming in the second half. Freshman Brandon Nieves (New York, NY/All Hallows) also reached double-figures for Farmingdale with 12 points, while Dashawn Warren (Astoria, NY/Bryant) grabbed 8 rebounds and posted 7 points.
Farmingdale will face Kenyon College in the consolation game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
