Farmingdale (2-2) fell to Frostburg State (9-5) in two close games today, 6-5 and 2-1. In game one, the Rams were up 4-2 after three innings, only to have Frostburg score two runs in the fifth to balance out the score. Farmingdale chipped away towards a run in the sixth and took the lead 5-4, but Frostburg added two more in the last inning to gain the 6-5 edge over the Rams. Wayde Anderson (Bronx, NY/Cardinal Spellman) went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Keith King (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) was 1-for-3 with 2 RBI's and Bill Jansen (W. Hampton Beach, NY/W. Hampton) went 2-for-3 and an RBI. Frostburg’s Chris McGarvey (Fallentimber, PA/Glendale) recorded his second win (2-0) and Frank Sutton (Clarksburg, WV/Robert C. Byrd) was awarded the save.

The second game was scoreless until the top of the fifth as Frostburg took a one run lead. The Rams were able to even the score in the sixth, but Frostburg scored the winning run in the seventh to complete the sweep. Brent Lutz (Toms Brook, VA/Central) picked up the win going six innings with 5 K's and no walks. Collin Bednar (Millersville, MD/Glen Burnie) picked up the save. Pat Manganaro (Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale) finished 1-for-2 with one run scored. Ian Roche-Tilden (Huntington, NY/Harborfields) went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

The Rams host a doubleheader against SUNY Utica-Rome on March 21st at noon.
