Riva and Rosamilia Named 2016 Chancellor's Scholar Athletes

Albany, N.Y. - The Chancellor's Scholar Athlete Award was created to recognize academic excellence and outstanding athletic achievement. Farmingdale State had two student-athletes receive this prestigious award for 2016.

The first recipient is a junior on the women's tennis team, Tatiana Rosamilia (Malverne, N.Y.). Tatiana was named First Team All-Conference in the Fall of 2015 as she helped lead the tennis team to their 3rd consecutive Skyline Conference Title. This season, she holds a 10-4 record and will be making the trip to the First Round of the NCAA Championship's this week with her team. She is a Liberal Arts major and holds an impressive 3.46 GPA.

The second recipient was Samuele Riva (Cadrezzate, Italy), a senior on the men's soccer team and two-year member of our golf team. Sam earned Second Team All-Skyline honors this season, as the Rams were the runner-up in the Skyline Conference Championship. A Sport Management major with an outstanding 3.95 GPA, Sam is graduating in only three years, and was just recently selected as Valedictorian for the 2016 Farmingdale State Commencement.
