Head Coach: Adam Waterhouse (8th season)

Adam Waterhouse was hired in the Fall of 2006 with the opportunity to develop Farmingdale State's men's and women's tennis programs from scratch. In the first Varsity season (2007-08), he led the women to a 4-4 record and the men to a 5-7 record, both making appearances in the Conference Tournament.

Coach Waterhouse has earned Skyline Conference Coach of the Year honors five times in his career - 2008-09 (men), 2010-11 (men), 2011-12 (men), 2012-13 (women & men).

With the men's team, Farmingdale State has captured three Skyline Conference Championships (2011, 2012, 2013) and earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament three times (2011, 2012, 2013) under Coach Waterhouse. He currently holds a career record of 66-32 with the men's team.

This past season (2013), the women's team won their first-ever Conference Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The women have made the playoffs in six of their first seven seasons. Coach Waterhouse currently holds a career record of 51-38 with the women's team.

Coach was born and raised in Plattsburgh, N.Y. and is a 1980 graduate of Plattsburgh High School, where he qualified for the New York State High School Championships three of his four years (1978, 1979, 1980). He received a Bachelor's degree in Biology from SUNY Oswego in 1984. While at Oswego, he played four years of tennis and was a team captain in 1983 and 1984.

Since college, Adam has been a part-time tennis pro and was the head coach of the boy's and girl's tennis team at Plainedge High School from 1989-2006. Starting in 2002, he has been the Director of three annual summer tennis camps through Long Island Sports Camps.

Coach Waterhouse currently serves as the Coordinator of the Science Department at Plainedge High School and teaches college level Biology. He resides in Massapequa Park with his wife, Denise, and three kids, Joseph, Katie and Matthew.
