Don "Doc" Haworth is in his 45th year at Farmingdale State College, currently serving as the Director of Sports Medicine and Chairperson of the Skyline Conference Athletic Trainer's Associaton.
A graduate of Farmingdale State with an Associate's degree, Don is a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATA). He began his career at the College in 1972, where he was the sole Athletic Trainer for 25 years. Aside from training, he worked as the full-time equipment manager from 1972-1975 before being promoted to Head Facilities Coordinator, holding that title until he retired in December 2010.
He has been involved in many other capacities during his career. He was the Head Athletic Trainer for the Huntington Giants, a semi-pro football team, from 1970-1972. From 1978-1980, he was the Head Athletic Trainer for the New York Apollo in the American Soccer League. He also served for six years as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Mount Vernon Corsairs, which was a semi-professional soccer team in the early 80's.
Don has given lectures for the chiropractic group involved with NYIT, as well as at the Long Island Junior Soccer League's Annual Conferences at the Huntington Hilton for many years.
He has divided his time as a volunteer EMT for the Lindenhurst Fire Department for the past 30 years. A Class "A" Firefighter, Don was the Captain of the Rescue Company from 2003-2005 and 2012-2013.
