Sean Chamberlain was hired as the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach in September 2014. He holds a 59-33 career record and has led the Rams to the playoffs in each of his first five seasons at the helm (the 2020 season was cancelled due to Covid-19).
During his time at FSC, Chamberlain has earned Coach of the Year honors (2016) and has coached a Scholar Athlete of the Year (2015), Rookie of the Year (2017) and Defensive Player of the Year (2018), along with 23 All-Conference players and two players named All-Region.
Chamberlain brings a wealth of knowledge around both the National and Long Island lacrosse circuit. Most notably, he serves on the Board of Directors for both Team 91 Lacrosse, a nationally recognized program serving over 3,000 boys and girls annually, and the National Lacrosse Federation. In addition, Chamberlain is the founder and event director of the Long Island LaxFest, which began in 2008, and continues as one of the largest summer lacrosse tournaments in the United States. The LI LaxFest attracts over 400 teams annually and has expanded as a recruiting resource with over 130 men’s and women’s college coaches in attendance annually from all NCAA Divisions.
Since June 2010, Sean has been the head coach of the Polish National Lacrosse Team during their appearances in both the 2010 (Manchester, UK) and 2014 (Denver, CO) FIL World Championships. In both FIL Championships, the team has finished in the top half of competition.
During his playing career, Chamberlain was an attackman at Stony Brook from 2004-2007. Sean also served as team captain during his senior year and was a finalist in the America East conference all four years. A native of Holbrook, NY, he played his high school career at Indian Hills High School in Cincinnati, OH. During his senior year, while leading the Braves to a State Championship, he led the state in points (50 goals & 90 assists), earning him All-Ohio accolades, as well as being named a US Lacrosse High School All-American.
