Russell Composites Manufacturing Co. is a leading build-to-print fabricator of composite products and assemblies for the Aerospace, Military, Industrial, and Commercial markets.
Established in 1951, Russell rapidly became a leader in the development of reinforced fiberglass molding techniques. Privately owned through the 1950's and 1960's, Russell's reputation became synonymous with reinforced fiberglass within the plastics industry. Russell was sold to Talley Industries in 1967, and sustained modest growth. In 1981, Russell was acquired by BTR, a large British conglomerate. During the period between 1981 and 1997, Russell continued to prosper. Upgrades in facilities and technology were primary. In 1997, due to changes in BTR's business strategies, Russell ownership was transferred to the operating management. That management is still in place today with several additions, which have enhanced the company's overall technical capabilities. These additional capabilities include CATIA, CAD/CAM, CNC Machining, tooling design and fabrication, as well as the ability to manufacture complex assemblies.
